Two posts in a day...is it possible?

Well, the baby is sleeping, Cory is glazing a window in the garage (whatever that means), and the DVR is empty.  All signs point to one more post tonight of more summer updates.

Our trip home was great.  Cameron got to visit with three of his great grandparents, play with all three of his aunts and his uncle, and play with his two cool, older boy cousins.

The best part was that each day he was so exhausted he took two great naps and slept pretty well at night.

Nothing is better than a cellphone

Possibly my favorite pic of the week- Helping Aunt Jenny work (or restarting her computer a few times)

That's sunscreen on Corys face - not a mime costume

Once again, I have fallen severely behind in the blog.  What can I say, we have spent the summer trying not to melt.  Which means way less outdoor activities (and less interesting things to write about).

We did manage to get an action packed road trip in last month.  We drove to Chicago, then to Wisconsin for the week.  Cameron had many firsts, including meeting lots of new people, attending his first wedding, his first trip to the beach and his first boat ride.

The biggest first was his first trip to IOWA CITY!!!!  It was a perfect day and our timing couldn't have been better.  On our trip north, we were able to eat a picnic lunch on the Old Capitol lawn.  This coincided with freshman tours, so Cameron got to spend the hour watching all the ladies go by in their gold shirts and waving to them.

Oh hey, the Old Capital.

"mill-e-wah-que" which is Algonquin for "the good land."

We had a wedding to attend over Memorial Day weekend in Milwaukee, so Cameron got to fly in a plane and swim in the lake.  He was in heaven!

Hey Murphy, wanna swim?

This is the life

Adios Milwaukee,  Hello Kansas City

and bonus points if you can name the movie quote used in this posts title

As usual...

...I am way behind on my updates.  Today Cameron is 8 months old.  Unbelievable!

He has been pulling himself on anything everything: the coffee table, his crib, the toilet (gross, I know).  He blabbers Da Da Da all day long, and sometimes whispers it very quietly (like Brick, on The Middle).

He is still the master of the army crawl, but can now push himself into a sitting position.  He has been on his first airplane ride and swimming in his first lake.  All have been successful!

We have a wild man on our hands, but he is a happy one.

General Silliness

Cameron has already shown us his love of hats.  This weekend, we discovered a new one.

He also has a love of laundry baskets.

First Zoo Trip

To celebrate Mothers Day, we got ourselves a zoo pass and headed out to the KC Zoo for Cameron's first trip.  It was really busy, but we saw lots of the animals in Africa and have managed to make it back twice so far!

You mean, that's a real cheetah in there?!

And a real rhino???

Yum

I have been trying to make Cameron's baby food. Mostly I have made fruits along with a few veggies.

We have also been having Cameron trying out some of the food we eat. Thus far, Cameron will eat:
Yogurt
Bananas
Apples
Pickles
Rice
Beans
Sweet potatoes
Carrots
Lemon slices
Lime slices
Gerber puffs
Plums
Peaches

But he most definitely will not eat :
Green peppers!
He did not care for them at all.

Tonight I puréed a few of our meals for the little man. Pot roast & veggies and chicken & green beans.

Hopefully these will be a big hit!

A busy weekend

Despite a super runny nose, Cameron had a jam packed weekend. On Saturday, we hit up the brookside art annual. It was hot out, so we had to wear a sweet summer shirt. The hard part was deciding which hat to wear.

After the art fair and a good nap, we played outside with water.

We have been practicing eat big kid food for the last few weeks. At the art fair, Cameron tried his first pickle. He seemed to enjoy it! On Sunday, he had his first taste of a lemon slice, rice and beans, and chips and salsa! No complaints!

A busy march

I can't believe it is April already!  We had a fun & busy March and this next month is shaping up to be just as crazy.  Kansas City had great weather all month!  It was so nice that I had to go buy Cameron apppropriate spring clothes in the six month size.  Everything we had was long, warm and fuzzy.

We spent a few weekend afternoons playing on the porch!

Daddy bought a race car swing that is a big hit

Showing off one of my new spring outfits...it goes well with my neck rolls.

Reading one of my new Little Pookie books.  I also like to eat my books now.

This whole outfit is new! A walk and swinging at the park is exhausting!

Swinging

Today Cameron got to swing on the big boy swings at the park this morning. We have had beautiful weather this week and have made it outside everyday.

The swing was a big hit and he was so close to laughing. Getting Cameron to laugh had been a big project in the Finley house! It has to happen soon!

The following pics are of the swing and the last one is Cameron taste testing the stroller on the way home :)

Suspenders!

Today's adorable outfit is brought to you by aunt Jennifer. We've had them for a few weeks and they finally "fit"! Close enough, we can make them work!

Four Month Old Photo Shoot

Our poor kid....all he wants to do is play and all Momma wants to do is take pictures!

Yeah, Hi Mom.  I'm just waking up.

Finally, she is letting me play.  I wonder what this puppy is going to do next.

You are still shooting?

Fine. Ill look at you just this once, but I'm not taking my fingers out of my mouth.

We are outside and its February? What is going on?
